Taking a different approach: The Fayetteville (N.C.) Observer reports that librarians at Triton High School in Erwin began carrying graphic novels in February:

"'Reading is reading,' said Eunice Jones, a media coordinator at Triton. She said the library's circulation rose to 811 in February from 392 in January, partly because of graphic novels. Some students visit the library during their lunch break and immediately hit the graphic novel section on the second floor."
