WildStorm, rebranded: DC Comics has announced it's ending Homage, Eye of the Storm and Cliffhanger! in a rebranding of its WildStorm imprint. According to a press release (via Christopher Butcher), the new branding marks will be rolled out with the launch of Ex Machina, and will include: WildStorm Universe, "for projects set in the same universe," such as Sleeper and Planetary; WildStorm Signature Series, "for creator-driven projects" such as Astro City and Ex Machina; and WildStorm, for licensed properties such as Thundercats.

Here's Richard Bruning, DC's senior VP-creative director: "We're refocusing the public's attention on WildStorm as a core brand. By putting the WildStorm name on all their projects, whether they're creator-driven, licensed, or part of the WildStorm Universe, it makes it easier for readers to find the books that share that WildStorm style of energy and excitement."

Christopher makes note of the interesting, and deliberate, use of "creator-driven" -- as opposed to "creator-owned" -- in the text of the release, and in Bruning's quote.
