"All those hopes down the drain"? "Box Office Poison" creator Alex Robinson gives The Pulse his report on last weekend's Las Vegas Comic-Con, and it isn't necessarily pretty:

"I was looking forward to the show--or the EXTROSION, as they called it. I didn't make it to Chicago or San Diego this summer, and I was actually looking forward to going to a big show. They had hyped it up as the third biggest show in the country.

"This may have been true in terms of the number of exhibitors, but it was definitely not the case in terms of attendees. As of Sunday afternoon, the last day of the show, some people were saying attendance was anywhere from about 4,000 to as low as 2,500--neither of which is an inspiring figure. When you compare this to San Diego, which is supposed to get something like ten times those numbers, or, at the other end of the spectrum, MoCCA, which got about 2,000 people in one day, you begin to get an idea of what we were looking at. The stark, cavernous warehouse atmosphere didn't help."

Alex goes on to say there were bright spots, like meeting "Box Office Poison" fans and participating in the CBLDF fund-raiser.
