Kickin' a publisher while it's down: Financial woes. Schedule problems. Free-lancer complaints. Title cancellations. Studio defections. What's next for the troubled CrossGen?

How about an empty imprint? If Newsarama's report is to be believed, it's likely "Snake Plisskin Chronicles" will either move from CrossGen or be canceled, leaving the CGE imprint without any actual titles.

"While Hurricane is yet to make a formal announcement, suspicions of at least the book’s departure from CrossGen were raised Wednesday morning when visitors to CrossGen’s newly updated messageboards (all posts regarding the company’s problems over the past few months are now gone) and the folder for CGE titles, which contained subfolders for MV Creations and 'Snake Plissken Chronicles' had been deleted."

Oddly enough, Matt Brady told me a couple of weeks ago on the Newsarama boards, regarding another matter, that, "Newsarama, at least, is not in the habit of publishing speculation or rumor."
