Love, loss and 'Alchino'

I'd ordered Alchino Vol. 1 yesterday based on the solicitation copy. Judging from the preview art posted at Newsarama, I'm glad I did. It's gorgeous.

Kouyo Shurei's tale of "love, loss and self-identity" debuts in the U.S. in February from Tokyopop. Here's editor Tim Beedle:

"Alichino is essentially a dark fairy tale that has, at its heart, a very simple message: Be careful what choices you make in life, as nothing in life is ever achieved without cost. Alichino are mythical creatures capable of granting wishes. However, for every wish they grant, they demand a price, and sometimes that price can be terribly high."
