Marvel to promote 'Fantastic Four' in classrooms

Super Hero Hype passes along word from Variety that Marvel Enterprises will use its Cover Concepts division to promote the Fantastic Four movie to elementary schools.

As part of the March 14-April 29 Do Your Thing campaign, a six-week lesson plan focusing on science, math, reading and the visual arts will be sent to some 6,000 schools nationwide. At the same time, 1 million copies of the Marvel Adventure Fantastic Four will be given directly to students.

The comic, written by educators, is designed to teach kids to "take stock in their own talents." There's also a Do Your Thing essay contest, whose winner will be drawn into an issue of Fantastic Four and receive $1,000 in Toy Biz products.
