Your unexpected comics reference of the day ...

If you were writing a preview of the musical Mamma Mia for the Kansas City Star, what legendary comics figure would you name-check in the lead? If you answered "Julius Schwartz," you'd be right:
Late DC Comics editor Julius Schwartz knew that comic books with attention-grabbing covers sold the best. For instance, a story about an ant-headed Superman would be concocted merely to justify the appearance of an ant-headed Superman on the cover.

Believe it or not, the same principle applies to the songs of 1970s Swedish pop group ABBA in the hit stage musical Mamma Mia!
