What the kids are reading (in Marietta, Ohio)

One of the newspapers in my area, The Marietta (Ohio) Times, chats with local teachers, librarians and bookstore owners about what kids are reading nowadays. The answer? Old standbys like Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, along with newer works like Masami Tsuda's Kare Kano, Jeff Smith's Bone and Jonathan Stroud's The Bartimaeus Trilogy:

Eva Goode, Washington County library collection assistant, said she's ordering more graphic novels for the teen room of the library for the upcoming year.

"They're very popular with teens, so we're ordering more of them," said Goode. "As soon as the books are on the shelf, they're checked out."
